Powerhouse

I had a free day so I went down to the Harbourside area and rode the monorail around and around. The [Powerhouse Museum] piqued my interest and I hopped off and soon realized that this museum of technology had enough material in it to entertain for days. Unfortunately, I only had just a few hours.

The exterior of the Powerhouse museum. Although the museum has existed since the 19th century, it only moved to its home here since 1988 when they converted an old electric train powerhouse into the museum. You can see the original powerhouse on the right and the modern additions on the left. For scale, notice the little dots below the face. Those are people.
Barrel Organ from 1890. The barrel organ is powered by a Savage, vertical steam engine, on left. The barrel organ has 27 pipes and 13 horns
When I visited, nearly all of the steam engines were actually turning on their own power. Amazing.
